In our "propaganda" prone world, "you should not listen to what people are saying but look at what they are doing!" Sure enough!
The problem for Europe is existential. Not for the Europeans but most certainly for the elites squeezed between, Russia, China and the US now. How can you justify your failures except by doubling down on whatever failed policies you're engages in? You end up fanatical like all failing civilizations in history: If what you're doing doesn't work, it is not because you are on the wrong tracks, it is because you haven't done enough. You need to double down.
In more practical words, Europe wants to wage war with a nuclear power, Russia, which has the resources while cutting itself from the world economic power, China and the world military power, the US? If this is not fanaticism, then it is madness!
Now, looking at the alternative, the future is of course not rosy for Europe. Without cheap energy, the continent will accelerate it's de-industrialization, already well under way. Green policies will insure a much lower income and no growth since whatever capital is left will flow to less productive investments. All this with geriatric populations requesting more and more social services. And Europe wants to re-arm on top. Someone should quickly teach basic economics to these clowns in Brussels.
Unfortunately, 50 years of calm and stability, financed by "fiat" (fiduciary, i.e. "free" money) have taught them the wrong lessors.
So, "one more year of war in Ukraine" and Russia will crash and give back land to the Kiev regime? You have to be demented and out of your mind to believe such a thing. There would of course be little left of Ukraine by then, but long before that, the feeble armies of Europe would be facing the Russians. Then what?
Let's hope, Trump finds a way to put a end to all this. If he doesn't then, yes, we may be heading towards World War 3.
