Is Trump playing a double game as some Trump supporters in the US believe? Officially supporting Netanyahu to placate his sponsors while the help may never really materialize beyond resupply for the iron Dome? Possible but very unlikely?
What is certain is that if it is his plan, Netanyahu will have a contingency and will probably not hesitate to explode a tactical nuke over the subterranean enrichment plants which in any case the bunker buster bombs may not reach.
The risks on both sides are huge. Existential for Israel, and a possible serious setback for the US following the closing of the Strait of Hormuz which would be rather hard to oppose militarily.
Could we see a false flag operation? Possible. Could Israel attack the energy infrastructure of Iran? Quite likely. What will Russia do? Just benefit from higher gas prices? And more importantly, what will China do, since Iran is important energetically for China? Nothing, since Iran is still beyond their practical horizon? And then what about Turkey and Erdogan?
The dices are rolling. It will be difficult to stop the consequences. The risk of a nuclear strike is analyzed in the videos below by macGregor. Far from nil!
