As the Duran in the video below expect, yes, Europe will most probably be obliged to "sell" Greenland to the US if Trump so desire. And he most probably will since it is such a low hanging fruit compared to the rest, say a "real" fight with China which at this stage he is far from certain to win.
What an amazing outcome for Europe, just when the continent was on the cusp of winning its biggest battle ever against... carbon dioxide!
Would this happen, it would be the crowning of imbecility at the very top of the EU. A stunning prize for all the crazy women from Eastern Chihuahua states who are on the war path with Russia, insult China and India, scorn Africa and Asia, and also happen to live in a "garden", certainly not of their own making, that unfortunately and not just partly due to their incompetence will soon be absorbed back into the jungle.
The real question is: Can Europe survive the upheaval?
We shall see, but I think it is unlikely. It will simply be the beginning of the end for the continent, or rather a sharp acceleration towards irrelevance. Facing bankruptcy, you would expect the French to revolt as they usually do. But this time, they won't since over 56% now depend on the state to survive. In some English cities or rather what's left of them after vulture capitalists are done stripping capital from real estate and whatever public property survived Margaret Thacher, the muezzin's call to prayer will soon resonate over the remains of derelict high streets.
In this bleak landscape of 21th century Europe, "the strong will do what they can and the weak suffer what they must", i.e. those who have access to capital will survive another day while the rest will endure, wishing during harsh winters that the promised global warming comes faster and sooner. The idle, unemployed younger generations will dream of emigrating while being replaced by lower payed people from Africa and further away.
Since not all of Europe will decline at the same rate, it is almost certain that the union will break up as Viktor Orbán, the Prime Minister of Hungary predicts.
In any case, knowing that Trump is very unlikely to survive the mid-term elections and that as a consequence he is very likely to be impeached, it means he has just 10 months left to act boldly. He therefore most definitively will and we are therefore on the verge of "interesting times".
