Is something brewing up? Are we being manipulated by the algos? Or are governments trying to concentrate power further with fearmongering?
Probably the three options are true at the same time.
The more ominous explanation is that we are indeed heading into unforeseen events. We have been discussing this possibility for weeks now.
Tucker Carlson warned us recently that the US government was discussing seriously the possibility of using a tactical nuclear bomb on Pickaxe Mountain in Iran. It is important to note that "discussing" doesn't mean planning to. The leak is nevertheless alarming.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki could be presented as flukes as we didn't really know the effects of nuclear weapons then. But now we do. A third explosion could not easily be dismissed and would open a Pandora box almost impossible to close later on.
What is the chance? It remains relatively low for now, but not as low as it was a few months ago. The reality is that we are already in an early stage of a kind of third world war. This is certainly the case behind the curtain and in cyberspace.
Add a out of control AI and a stock bubble about to burst and many governments will probably prefer to go to war than lose control as we are seeing the early signs in Europe.
So should we prepare? Yes, of course. Here in Japan, it has always been a good idea to do so. Soon I will post the story of what happened in 2011 after the Great Tohoku Earthquake. We already had a 90 days food pantry then and have maintained it since. This may sound unnecessary but the experience shows that circumstances can flip on a dime. When the crowds panic, it is already too late, the shops are empty and what you didn't buy earlier is simply not available anymore for weeks.
