30 years ago Miami was the Latin America capital of the US. A tropical paradise with a seedy Miami Vice edge. Bubble and trash money has transformed the city over the years into a distorted and exaggerated image of what America has become. If it was a person, it would be obese, transvestite and unhinged.
Trump Presidency is not a fluke, it is the result of decades of mis-allocated investment and speculation. A mix of Los Angeles sprawl, Las Vegas Bling with a Spanish accent and some drugs to lubricate the whole.
Miami is supposed to sink back into the Ocean but clearly the billionaires buying waterfront properties have not been told, nor are their private jets CO2 emissions counted in the global output, since they will depart to live on mars any day now.
It would almost be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. We are being told that we must save the planet, but what planet? That one? Save "democracy" from "communism"! But what democracy? That one?
Trump should rest easy, nobody is planning to take over America. By the time a golden statue of him shines above the under-invested slum with gated islands of wealth that the country is becoming, amazingly similar to what the second movie of "Back to the Future" envisioned for 2025, the rot will be so deep that the fate of Sodom will be enviable.
